The Center of Orthopeadic and Rehabiltation for Disabled Children

By the first trade flight from America to Vietnam, Wheels For Humanity Organization brought hundred wheelchairs to Vietnam to give Vietnamese disabled children and impaired atheletes. This is an idea of the Wheels For Humanity together with the support of American film actors and actresses .

The ceremony of giving these significantly humanitarian gifts was held formally on the morning December 13^th , 2004 at the Tan Binh Palace of Culture, Ho Chi Minh City.

Participants of the ceremony consisted of the representatives of Wheels For Humanity , Handicaps International , Ho Chi Minh City Assistance Society for Poor Patients and Impaired Children , Women Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City Television Broadcast, Ho Chi Minh City Association of Impaired Youth, The Center and a number of disabled children .

At the ceremony, the disabled children and their parents were guided carefully the use of these wheelchairs by the members of Wheelchairs For Humanity. These wheelchairs can be adjusted in many different positions which adapt patients’ situations .Especially, they can be adjusted larger and higher when the child grows. Known that each wheelchair costs 3,000 USD.

Among a large number of disabled children in the Southern Provinces of Vietnam.There were 14 luckily disabled children who are patients of the Center received these gifts.
